Description:
Crack open Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling – Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. Although these beers come from the same clan, they have entirely different personalities. Aging on a blend of French and toasted oak chips infuses a subtle oak and vanilla character into Yeti’s already intense chocolate, roasted coffee malt flavor and hugely assertive hop profile. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti?

Appearance - 4.5
No date on the bottle, but it has the old-style label so I'm going to guess '08 or '09. The beer produces an inch of dark tan head which has nice retention and leaves some good lacing. The beer itself is opaque and black.
Aroma - 4.0
The aroma is full of sweet maltiness, vanilla, oak, and hints of alcohol.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
Medium to full in body. I'm surprised because every other version of Yeti I have had has had an obvious full mouthfeel. Light carbonation.
Taste - 4.0
Sweet malts mixed with oak character shows up upon the first sip. Soon after there is some vanilla and roasty character intertwined with hints of alcohol, similar to the aroma. The oak character lingers in the finish.
Overall - 4.0
The oak character shows well in this imperial stout. I'm not sure if this vintage or the aging process thinned out the beer, I'll need to try a fresh bottle in the future.
