Appearance - 4.0
Pours a clear medium amber with a small white head that fades rather quickly leaving a small ring of lace.
Aroma - 3.0
Even after letting the beer warm I couldn't get much off of the aroma. Just hints of citrus and caramel.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
Medium in body with moderate carbonation. Slight creaminess in the mouthfeel.
Taste - 3.5
The beer begins with subtle citrus notes followed by a stronger pine presence. A prevalent caramel malt backbone keeps the pine in check through the finish. Some citrus shows up at the end with a pleasant bitterness.
Overall - 3.5
A decent malty IPA. It's good, but I feel like Sierra Neveda's Celebration Ale is much better choice for a malty "holiday IPA".
