Blessed be! Our ridiculously big, ultra-hoppy D.I.P.A. returns to the rapturous exaltations of worshippers far and near.
Since its inaugural brew many years ago, both the malt and the hop content have been increased with each successive batch, yielding what today is an absurd 9.0% hop monster.
Red God features 5 different hop varieties showcasing, in particular, Columbus, Amarillo, and Centennial. These varieties combine for a strong herbal, spicy, citrusy character, which dominates the palate.
Hopping rate is, well, aggressive at nearly five pounds per barrel, yet balance prevails! American pale and Belgian caramel malts provide a malty, deep red pedestal upon which this hop fest rides until its long, lingering, hop-bittered finish. Beware this vengeful God!
