Appearance - 4.5
Pours pitch black and opaque. It produces a very small dark tan head that quickly disappears leaving no lacing.
Aroma - 5.0
The aroma is sweet and boozy just like the normal version of Bourbon County Brand Stout. The vanilla aroma is more pronounced in this beer, however. I couldn't stop smelling this beer, it's great!
Mouthfeel - 5.0
Full in body with light carbonation. It's quite sticky.
Taste - 4.5
Sweet and slightly roasty flavors dance across the tongue first. Vanilla and oak hit next followed by a fairly strong bourbon flavor that lasts into the finish. The flavor sticks around in your mouth long after you swallow.
Overall - 5.0
Another excellent version of their Bourbon County Brand Stout. The vanilla adds more sweetness to it. I really enjoyed this version, but still think I prefer the coffee version. I mixed the vanilla and coffee versions and was very pleased with the result, my favorite version yet!
