Appearance - 5.0

Pours 2 inches of creamy white head into a tulip. The head has great retention and leaves nice globs of lace. The beer is crystal clear with visible carbonation. The beer has a very light golden-orange hue.

Aroma - 3.5

A nice balance between hops and malts. On the malt side there are some caramel and toasted malts. On the hops side there is citrus, orange rind and floral notes. The aroma is nice, but seems slightly muted and doesn't pack the punch some other IPAs and DIPAs have.

Mouthfeel - 4.5

Light-medium in body with a creamy finish and good carbonation. Hop resin sticks behind after each swallow.

Taste - 4.0

Toasted malts race across the tongue before being overtaken by floral flavors midway through the taste. The floral flavors are replaced by a wave of citrus, orange, and an almost indistinguishable tropical fruit. There is a little bitterness in the finish.

Overall - 4.0

This a very well balanced beer. I believe it is the better than all of the previous Troegs Scratch IPA series, although not as good as that wet hopped Citra IPA aka Scratch #35. The Troegner brothers did a great job with this one.
