Description:
Welcome to the newest incarnation of our revered imperial stout. We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. A Yeti for summer? Hell yes.

Appearance - 5.0
2009 vintage. Pours a creamy looking mocha head with great retention and some nice lacing. The beer is pitch black.
Aroma - 4.0
A little bit of oak and vanilla hits the olfactories first followed by chocolate and roasted malts. There is also a hint of alcohol.
Mouthfeel - 4.5
Full in body with creamy carbonation. It has a fairly thick feel and isn't overly syrupy.
Taste - 4.0
Oak character strikes the taste-buds initially along with some roasted malts. Chocolate shows up mid-taste and it finishes roasty with some alcohol presence.
Overall - 4.0
A very good imperial stout overall. I wish I wouldn't have sat on it so long, would love to try it fresh. Will look for this one again.
