Description:
Aged in French oak wine barrels for twelve months with distinct characteristics of fruit and subtle oak" sounds more like a description of wine than beer. However, Temptation is indeed beer. Temptation is a Blonde Ale aged in French oak chardonnay barrels with Brettanomyces. Flavors of wine and oak absorb into the brew throughout its aging. Temptation is re-fermented in the bottle to create its carbonation--a process commonly used to make fine champagne and sparkling wine. Spent yeast forms a thin layer of sediment to remain in the bottle.

375ml bottle poured into an over-sized tulip glass. It produces a 1/4" of white head that has nice retention and leaves some nice thick lacing. The beer is clear with a blonde straw color. There is a ton of carbonation visible.
Aroma - 4.0
The aroma contains white wine and a fairly forward green apple smell.
Mouthfeel - 4.5
Light in body and highly carbonated. Very dry.
Taste - 4.0
This beer has a very pronounced wine taste, more than in any beer I've had before. White grapes, tartness and a light funk presence are noticeable in the taste. It's got a green apple bite in the finish.
Overall - 4.0
A very complex and interesting sour. It borrows a lot of flavors from a white wine combining them with some funkiness, tartness, and sourness.
