Description:
Odyssey is the second edition in our Barrel Aged series. It is a dark, 10% ABV wheat beer. We age a portion of the beer in New American Medium Toast Oak, and a portion in stainless steel for more than six months. We then blend the two different portions of beer to taste. Finally we bottle condition, adding additional yeast and Candi sugar.

Appearance - 4.0
Caged and corked. Pours a dark brownish-black that looks pretty thick. It produces a nice inch of off-white head that leaves light lacing.
Aroma - 4.5
Lots of oak and a general woodiness show up in the aroma. There is also vanilla and a light tartness.
Mouthfeel - 5.0
Medium to full in body. This beer is velvety, smooth, and creamy. Feels great.
Taste - 4.5
Similar to the nose but a bit more complex. The oak and woodiness is present with traces of vanilla. There's also some dark fruit and light tartness. It has a slight alcohol burn in the finish.
Overall - 4.5
This is an awesome beer from Allagash. I've had it in my cellar for awhile but have been putting off drinking it. I should have tried it sooner so I could get some more. Will certainly be picking this up again.
