Description:
Hoppy? Brother, 471 IPA redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy.

Appearance - 4.5
This beer produces about an inch of creamy white head. It has a nice retention and leaves some pretty decent lacing. It has a brilliant golden-orange color.
Aroma - 3.5
Piny hops, orange, and caramel malt is present in the nose. The nose isn't quite as pungent as I would expect for an imperial IPA.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
Medium in body with adequate carbonation. There's a small amount of hops oils that coat the inside of the mouth.
Taste - 4.0
A pretty nice combination of pine, orange and grapefruit rind. It's got a sturdy caramel malt backbone that provides some balance, while still allowing the bitterness to takeover. It finishes on a bitter note with some alcohol warmth. The alcohol isn't very detectable for 9.2%.
Overall - 4.0
A pretty nice DIPA. It won't blow your mind, but it's goes down easy and has some very nice flavors.
