Appearance - 4.0

Pours a very dark brown, may as well be black, color with just a smidge of light creeping through. It produces an inch of tan head and leaves some lacing behind.

Aroma - 3.5

The aroma is lacking a bit, I get some roasted and crystal malts. There also traces of spices, but too faint to make out.

Mouthfeel - 4.0

Medium in body with moderate carbonation and a creamy feel.

Taste - 4.0

Dark roasted malts come first and quickly interweave with sweet caramel. A very nice milk-chocolate flavor follows and it concludes with a roasty bitterness.

Overall - 4.0

By far the best offering I've seen come out of Appalachian that wasn't from a homebrewer(the single hop IPA series was great).
