Brewhouse Coffee Stout

Appearance - 5.0

Pours an inch of creamy tan head. It has great retention and even leaves behind some sticky lacing. The beer itself is pretty dark. It's black, but there are some brownish hues visible when held to the light. Opaque, not seeing through this one.

Aroma - 4.5

This one has a wonderful nose. At first I got hints of milk chocolate, but then a nice roasted coffee aroma appears. It smells very similar to a coffee ice cream I had a few days ago, but more potent.

Mouthfeel - 4.5

Medium in body with moderate carbonation. It's got a nice dry finish. I mostly like the feel, but would have preferred for it to be a bit heavier. That's really nitpicking, though.

Taste - 5.0

Very light chocolate notes up front followed by toffee which fades into a nice coffee flavor. There are hints of vanilla before it finishes roasty and dry.

Overall - 5.0

This is one amazing beer. I've never even heard of the brewery before, but I will certainly be seeking out more of their brews now. If you are a coffee or stout lover, it's hard to not fall in love with this beer.
