Appearance - 3.5
Pours a 1/2 inch of creamy off-white head into a pint glass. It has a decent retention and leaves a bit of lacing. The beer is clear and copper in color.
Aroma - 3.5
The centennial hops give it a fairly citrus forward nose with a bit of caramel present. Not bad, but not as aromatic as their IPA.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
Light-medium in body with a nice tingly carbonation.
Taste - 3.5
Caramel malt, citrus, and then a pretty bitter finish. The caramel malt serves as a sturdy backbone throughout the brew, making this a fairly malty IPA.
Overall - 3.5
My first bottled Caldera brew. While not excellent, it's pretty easy drinking for a 6.8% brew. The centennial hops give a good amount of bitterness and citrus to the beer. Pretty good stuff, looking forward to trying more from Caldera.
