Description:
he Humidor Series is a rotating offering of Cigar City Brewing beer aged on cedar. Cedar has a more subtle effect on beer than more traditional woods like oak. But, we think that once you taste it you’ll agree that cedar deserves a place alongside oak in the brewer’s wood-aging toolbox.

Appearance - 4.5
Pours 2 fingers of sticky white head that has a nice retention and leaves plenty of lacing. The beer is a hazy golden orange.
Aroma - 2.5
You certainly can't mistake the cedar in the nose, it's pretty overpowering. There's also a bit of spiciness and maybe some tobacco. The hops don't really make an appearance at all in the nose.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
Light to medium in body with a nice dose of carbonation that works with the beer.
Taste - 3.0
The taste is heavy on the cedar with a bit of tobacco. The hops try to come through, but make a very weak appearance at best. There might be a little bit of pine, but it's really hard to tell. It's very woody.
Overall - 3.0
Pretty unique, but the cedar overpowers all other attributes of the beer, making it a bit one dimensional. I love Jai Alai, but I didn't taste any of it in this brew. If the cedar taste was less intense, I could see this being an enjoyable brew.
