Pours a very thin light tan head that fades almost immediately. The beer is a dark brownish-red.
Aroma - 3.5
A combination of sweet and roasted malts. It's a bit nutty with a tiny bit of chocolate showing up. There is the slightest hint of some dark fruit as well.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
Medium in body with good carbonation.
Taste - 3.0
Some bready malts up front followed by dark fruit and finishing with some roasted malts and a bit of spice. The 8% is well hidden.
Overall - 3.0
A decent brew from Rahr & Sons. It won't knock your socks off, but I'm glad I got a chance to try it as an extra in a trade.
