Appearance - 4.5
Pouring this into my tulip produces an inch of creamy white head. The head has great retention and leaves some decent lacing. The beer is clear and has a dark golden-orange hue.
Aroma - 4.0
A very nice nose consisting of citrus, caramel malt and a spicy rye. The rye aroma is the most dominating of the three I detected.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
Medium in body with moderate carbonation.
Taste - 4.0
The taste is very similar to the nose. It starts off with caramel malts with a dash of breadiness. The latter half of the beer is a combination of rye spiciness, citrus, and hops bitterness that all blend together in the aftertaste leaving a bitter, spicy finish.
Overall - 4.0
This is one of my favorite Terrapin beers. I love rye in beers, and this beer has a nice balance of hops, spiciness, and sweetness. This one is worth checking out.
