5 C’s IPA
Brewery: Portsmouth Brewery
Alcohol By Volume: 6.50%
Beer Style: American IPA
Availability: Rotating
Average of 1 rating: 4.5 stars.
Description:
Our interpretation of a West Coast IPA is golden, medium-bodied ale that is very hop forward. The use of Cascade, Chinook, Columbus, Centennial and Crystal hops makes this beer a hophead’s dream.

Appearance - 4.5
Pours 1 inch of frothy white head that has good retention and leaves some generous lacing. The beer is hazy and has an orange-ish copper hue.
Aroma - 4.5
Wow, what a great aroma. Lots of citrus and caramel on the nose. It also reminds me of cotton candy.
Mouthfeel - 4.5
Medium in body with moderate carbonation. Lots of hop oils in the mouthfeel. Slick texture.
Taste - 4.5
Ton of hop flavor. The various American C hops work well together and provide a nice citrusy flavor. There is a light caramel malt back bone present before the grapefruit finish. There's a little burn in the aftertaste from the hops, and I love it.
Overall - 4.5
This is a delicious IPA, I wish I had better access to it. There is a lot of hop flavor packed into this with out it being super unbalanced. Certainly worth picking up if it's in rotation the time you make it into New Hampshire.
