Appearance - 3.0
Pours a small light tan head that settles pretty quickly leaving just a small ring of lace. The beer is dark brown with shades of black. You can only see through it when held up to the light.
Aroma - 3.5
Roasted malts and a hint of syrupy cola-like aromas.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
Light to medium in body with moderate carbonation.
Taste - 3.0
Fairly lacklustre in taste. It's similar to the aroma but all of the flavours seem muted. It's got a roasty, malty finish with a small hops bite.
Overall - 3.0
It's certainly drinks well, but lacks in the flavour department. For the same price I'd prefer to go with Saranac's Black Forest Lager.
