3rd Anniversary Ale

Appearance - 4.5

Pours about 1/2 inch of sticky off-white head into a tulip glass. It has some nice retention and leaves a thick ring as it settles. The beer is a very hazy burnt orange.

Aroma - 3.5

Piny hops and sweet caramelized malts. Pleasant aroma, but not quite as strong as I anticipated it being.

Mouthfeel - 4.5

A full-bodied ale. It's got a creamy feel as well a lot of hops resin and oil. Moderate carbonation.

Taste - 4.0

It's got a nice malt backbone combined with lots of piny hops. It's not overly bitter for the style. A nice amount of grapefruit and malt sweetness is present towards the middle. A bit of alcohol shows up in the finish and creates a warming feeling.

Overall - 4.0

A very nice DIPA. Despite it's 6 month age, the hops hold up well.
