Description:
In honor of Oktoberfest, we give you Scratch #23-2009, Kellar Fest. This unfiltered lager features all German malts and noble hops. Fermented with the Augustinerbrau yeast strain, Kellar Fest is a blend of Bohemian Pils, Munich and Vienna malts. The Magnum hops provide a crisp bitterness and the Hallertau noble hops impart a slight earthy taste. Kellar Fest finishes crisp and dry with hints of fruit. Grab a lamb handle and savor this Kellar Fest.

Appearance - 3.0
Pours about an inch of white head into a pint glass. The head sticks around for a good while leaving a light ring of lacing. The beer is a very light copper color with active carbonation visible.
Aroma - 3.0
Flowery, earthy hops combined with a light sweetness from the malts.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
Light-medium in body with moderate carbonation. Very clean and smooth.
Taste - 3.0
A fairly simple taste. A good amount of malts followed by the earthy, flowery hops.
Overall - 3.0
It's a very refreshing, drinkable beer, however there isn't anything super special about it. It's low in alcohol so would be a nice session beer.
