Description:
It usually means bigger. Richer. And we can think of no better way to describe the taste of this even-bolder take on our classic, Black Butte Porter. Black Butte XX is an imperial porter with a lot more malt and hops, a wealth of coffee, cocoa nibs and aged in bourbon oak barrels. XX. It also means 20. Enjoy one during our 20th anniversary. On the flavor scale - It’s legendary.

Appearance - 4.5
The date on the bottle reads "Best After 10/18/10". It pours a small tan head that recedes fairly quickly leaving some spider lacing. The beer is dark as night, there is no seeing through this one.
Aroma - 4.0
The aroma consists of sweet malts and chocolate with a bitter coffee smell towards the end. There is a small amount of bourbon in the background as it warms.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
Medium in boyd with moderate carbonation. It's slightly creamy.
Taste - 4.0
There is chocolate and sweet malt up front. The coffee flavor is pretty strong in the middle and towards the finish. In the finish there is a small amount of alcohol and bourbon present.
Overall - 4.0
With one year of age, this is still a very nice beer. I'm suprised the coffee flavor is still as strong as it is. I never had it fresh, but I can say it's still very delicious at this age.
