Description:

This beer truly defies style. A portion of the fermentable sugars that make up this beer come from beet sugar. Real beet extract is used which gives the beer a beautiful light red color. It’s body is inviting and the taste is smooth. Hops are barely perceivable and are there to balance out the sweetness from the malt.

This is the first magic hat that i didn't like. It had a very smooth feel, and a lightly hoppy front, and an almost sweet ending. once i learn more about reviewing beer, i will post a real review. For now, suffice it to say, i still have 3 left, and don't know when i'll get around to finishing them

Appearance - 3.0

Pours about an inch of fizzy white head ,with a tiny bit of pink, that fades fairly quickly leaving little to no lace. The beer is clear with a reddish tint with lots of carbonation bubbles.

Aroma - 2.0

Pretty weak aroma. A small amount of sweetness combined with some wheat.

Mouthfeel - 3.5

A light-bodied beer with good carbonation. It's nice and crisp.

Taste - 2.0

Some biscuit like malts up front followed by a sweetness that slightly resembles red beets. It lingers around a little too long and into the aftertaste.

Overall - 2.0

I have to give Magic Hat credit for thinking outside the box for this one. Regardless, I'm not a big fan. It's nice and light for the summer, but the sweet flavor is a bit much for these taste buds.

Appearance - 4.0

An interesting reddish amber, like a lighter grapefruit colour. A white head which lingers thickly over the top of the beer

Aroma - 2.5

A light but sweet, fruity hop aroma.

Mouthfeel - 3.0

Pretty smooth and crisp with a medium carbonation leaning a bit to the heavier side.

Taste - 2.0

Odd sweet taste up front before the finishing hop bitterness comes in.

Overall - 2.5

Gets a plus for unique colouring, but has an odd sweetness that just doesn't seem fitting for a beer.
