Double Trouble Imperial IPA

Appearance - 4.0

Pours 1/2 finger of white head which quickly settles into a thin ring around the glass. The ring clings as you drain the beer. The beer is a hazy golden orange. Reminds me of thin, watery, non-pulp OJ.

Aroma - 5.0

Pineapple, orange, citrus and a sweet malt background. A nice, fruity nose for the most part.

Mouthfeel - 4.0

Medium in body with some active carbonation.

Taste - 4.5

A little bit of citrus up front followed by some sweet malt, but most of it is muted by the hops flavors. It finishes with more hops, this time more of an orange flavor with a bit of pineapple. A bitterness wraps it up with a bit of citrus. Some alcohol heat in the aftertaste.

Overall - 4.5

Excellent DIPA. This one is very drinkable. It has a ton of hops flavor but the bitterness is pretty mellow compared to others I've tried. The alcohol shows up a little bit, but it's mostly well hidden. I'll take another.
