Appearance - 4.0

'08 vintage. Pours 1/2 inch of light tan head that has a decent retention and settles into a ring of lace. The beer is dark brown, practically black for all intents and purposes. Hardly see any light coming through.

Aroma - 3.5

A little bit of citrusy hops infused with chocolate and brown sugar.

Mouthfeel - 3.5

Medium in body and lightly carbonated. Some-what creamy and smooth in the mouth.

Taste - 3.5

On par with the nose. It's got the citrus hops up front followed by chocolate and coffee. It finishes slightly bitter and sweet with the bitterness coming from the dark roasted malts, rather than the hops. Nicely balanced and pretty unique.

Overall - 3.5

A nice combination of a porter and a hoppy brew. 3F never lets me done with their unique concoctions. The drink-ability on this one is pretty low, I wouldn't have more than one of these in a session.
