Description:
Inspired by West Coast I.P.A.'s, but brewed with Michigan style. The Crooked Tree is heavily dry hopped to give it a big aroma of pine and citrus. The flavors are big, yet very balanced between fresh hops and malt. Often described as "grapefruit" our hops give this beer an excellent fruit flavor that finishes dry, crisp, and clean. It will pour a nice deep copper color with a bit of haziness. Because of our almost patented "Intense Transfer Methods" our Crooked Tree has won several medals in the India Pale Ale category.

Appearance - 3.5
Pours about 1 finger of white head that has an OK retention, but leaves some decent lacing. The beer is a hazy golden orange.
Aroma - 4.0
Lots of pine and citrus on the nose with hints of sweet malt in the background. My kind of beer.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
Pretty dry, with a nice light-medium feel and decent carbonation. Slightly creamy.
Taste - 4.0
A good blast of citrus followed by some caramel malts. It's finished by some piny hops and leaves a nice bitterness.
Overall - 4.0
A pretty good IPA. It has a pretty good combination of malts and hops but leans more towards the hops side for sure. If I had this available nearby I'd certainly pick it up again.
