Appearance - 4.0

Pours 2 fingers of frothy tan head that has a very good retention and leaves some nice lacing. The beer is a clear, dark amber color with hints of red throughout.

Aroma - 3.5

Some mild citrus and pine mixed in with some caramelized malts. Interesting aroma for a doppelbock.

Mouthfeel - 3.5

A medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation. It has s smooth feel to it with a bite in the finish.

Taste - 4.5

At first taste it's citrus followed by a nice sweet malty backbone. Some grassy hops mixed with a sweet roasted chocolate flavor. It's not bitter in the finish, just nice and smooth.

Overall - 4.0

This is an interesting beer for sure. It's hot a lot more hops flavor/smell then your typical doppelbock, but still has most of the main doppelbock characteristics. It's a very drinkable beer, that I wouldn't mind having again.
