Description:
The name CascaZilla is a play on both the name of our local Cascadilla Gorge and the monster amounts of Cascade hops in this beer. This red ale gets its distinctive color from a healthy portion of caramel malt, which also lends some body and sweetness to the beer. The predominant flavor and aroma of this beer, however, is brought to you by the fresh American hops. If you haven't done so yet, treat yourself to Ithaca Beer's new monstrously hoppy Red Ale.

Pours one finger of off-white head that settles fairly quickly leaving a thick ring of lace. The beer is dark red and copper in color.
Aroma - 4.0
A noseful of delicious cascade hops. Lots of citrus and just a tad of caramel malts.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
Medium in body with active carbonation. It's got a resinous feel from the hops oil. Finishes dry.
Taste - 3.5
There's a little bit of doughy malt up front followed by a blast of hops. The citrusy hops are smoothed out by some caramel malt, but the hops take over in the end. Finishes bitter.
Overall - 3.5
This is a delicious hoppy red ale. It's got great aroma, flavor and looks the part. Worth checking out.
