Appearance - 5.0
Was lucky enough to pick this up on a trade. Pouring it into a chalice glass gives a good inch of dark brown head. The head is very thick and almost looks like a melted milkshake. The head has great retention and leaves a ring of lacing. The beer itself is a deep black with no light making its way through whatsoever. It looks heavy and appetizing.
Aroma - 4.0
Chocolate is the most prominent aroma, there is also a cappuccino-like smell.
Mouthfeel - 4.5
A medium bodied beer. It feels nice and creamy. Maybe a tad too much carbonation, but just about right.
Taste - 5.0
The roasted malts hit first, then the milk chocolate flavor takes over the middle. At the end are the Belgian spices which finish well with the beer. A chocolate flavor lingers on your tongue after you swallow. I found the combination of ingredients to be very delicious.
Overall - 5.0
I have to give a hand to Midnight Sun for making such a unique brew. It's very easy to sit back and enjoy.
