Description:

Ten FIDY Imperial Stout - Now (11-21-07) available in cans, our winter seasonal beer is immensely viscous and loaded with neck-deep flavors of chocolate, malt, coffee, cocoa and oats.

It's the beer equivalent of decadently rich milkshake made with malted-milk balls and Heaven’s best chocolate ice cream. Ten FIDY is about 10% ABV and is made with enormous amounts of two-row malts, chocolate malts, roasted barley, flaked oats and hops. Its huge-but-comforting flavors hide a whopping 98 IBUs that are deftly tucked underneath the beer’s mountains of malty goodness.

Ten FIDY is the ultimate Rocky Mountain winter warmer, and further proof of the creative muscle of our beloved brewing staff. Look for fourpacks of Ten FIDY in select beer stores in Colorado. Out of state? We hope to send a few cases to a few of our other states in early '08.

Pours as thick as motor oil with an equally thick head. The head is mocha brown in color. As it slowly dissipates, it leaves a thick lacing around the glass. The beer itself is quite black in a glass

Aroma - 4.0

Strong dark chocolate and black coffee aroma with the malts just noticeable.

Mouthfeel - 4.0

Thick and heavy in the mouth, A bit of carbonation present throughout.

Taste - 4.5

Definitely some coffee, dark chocolate, followed by a mix of the malts and caramel. Molasses finishes it off with a bittersweet touch.

Overall - 4.5

A meal unto itself. Definitely a good quality Imperial Stout, showing that good things can come out of cans.

Pours a super thick black, that looks like motor oil. 2 fingers of brown head rest on top and slowly diminishes to about 1/2 a finger with some pretty good lacing.

Aroma - 3.5

Roasted malts, molasses, and bitter chocolate stand out in the aroma. Not super strong, but the aroma still makes itself noticed.

Mouthfeel - 4.0

A full bodied beer. Very thick and syrupy feel to it. A pretty sticky beer.

Taste - 4.0

Coffee and roasted malts followed by some sweet caramel and molasses. Some bitter chocolate flavored hops towards the end, finishing off dry with a burnt flavor.

Overall - 4.0

Another great beer from Oskar Blues. This has great flavor and holds it's own with the other imperial stouts out there.
