Description:
Dale's Pale Ale is our flagship beer and America's first hand-canned craft beer. It's an assertive but deftly balanced beer (somewhere between an American pale ale and an India Pale Ale) brewed with hefty amounts of European malts and American hops.
It features a merengue-like head, a copper color, and a hoppy nose, thanks to a big post-boil addition of Centennial hops. To complement its hoppy first impression, Dale's also sports a rich middle of malts and hops, and a bracing finish. Dale's is 6.5% alcohol by volume, and features 65 International Bittering Units.
We think of it as the perfect, everyday beer for hopheads like us. Dale's Pale Ale's rich flavor has helped us make many new fans, and its numerous honors have helped us kick huge holes in the misconceptions regarding cans.

Generally not my type of beer so don't take my review to entirely to strongly. But it definitely has a lot of clean flavour.

Appearance - 3.0
Nice off white head that dissipates at a decent rate, leaving just a little foamyness to sit on the glass. A nice medium copper colour
Aroma - 4.0
Definite aroma of pine needles from the hops with a tinge of sweetness to it.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
A nice light medium carbonation with a medium body as well.
Taste - 4.0
Fairly strong pine needle like hoppy taste with a bit of sweet caramel in the background. The piney bitterness sits in the mouth for a while after.
Overall - 4.0
Definitely proof that you can have good good beer in a can. Good to drink on a nice warm day. Just watch that little extra bit of alcohol.

Pours about one finger of off-white head, after an agressive pour, that is nice and sticky leaving good lacing. The retention isn't very long. The brew is a slightly hazy copper color.
Aroma - 4.5
Sweet caramel malt and piney hops are the most prominent aromas.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
Medium-bodied and lightly carbonated.
Taste - 5.0
Just like it smells. The sweet malts in the front followed by the piney hops finish off the drink leaving a nice bitterness on the tounge. An excellent balance here.
Overall - 4.5
Very drinkable, but you have to be careful since it's got a slightly higher abv than most pale ales. Great for places you can't have bottles like the pool and the beach. This isn't just a great example of good craft beer in a can, but also of the American Pale Ale beer style.
