Appearance - 4.5
Pours 2 fingers of sticky white head that has a great retention and there is some nice lacing. It has a cloudy amber appearance.
Aroma - 3.5
Juicy citrus, a hint of alcohol and a sweet malt background.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
A medium bodied beer that's well carbonated. Has a somewhat creamy feel to it and the alcohol has some warming effects.
Taste - 3.5
It's got a sweet pale malt start followed by some citrus and earthly hops. It's definitely a hoppy beer but the hops seem subdued by the malts. The finish leaves an alcohol flavor in your mouth, maybe just a little too apparent in the taste.
Overall - 3.5
A nice double IPA from Stoudt's. Because of the alcohol flavor in the finish it loses it's drink ability somewhat, but hey who is drinking double IPA's all night anyway? This is one of those beers that you have just one and sip on it.
