Description:
La Folie Wood-Aged Biere, is our original wood-conditioned beer, resting in French Oak barrels between one and three years before being bottled. . Peter Bouckaert, came to us from Rodenbach – home of the fabled sour red. Our La Folie emulates the spontaneous fermentation beers of Peter’s beloved Flanders with sour apple notes, a dry effervescence, and earthy undertones. New in 2010, we'll do a single bottling of La Folie for the year. Collect the 22oz unique to 2010 designed bottle and start a yearly wood-aged collection of goodness.

Appearance - 4.5
2012 vintage. Pours an inch of light tan head into my tulip. The head has pretty good retention and laves a little lace. The beer is clear with a brown-ish ruby red hue.
Aroma - 4.5
The nose has just hints of the sweet malts from the brown ale. A sour cherry and lactic sourness make up the greater portion of the aroma.
Mouthfeel - 5.0
Medium in body with prickly carbonation. the beer has a very dry finish.
Taste - 4.5
The beer begins with tart cherry followed up quickly by some lactic sourness. It finishes with a red-wine like taste with some lingering sour notes.
Overall - 4.5
An excellent sour. It's nice to see a more accessible sour at a decent price.
