Description:
GUINNESS® Extra Stout is steeped in heritage - a whole costume drama in a bottle. It’s naturally GUINNESS® a complex beer full of character that’s great with food.
Strong tasting with a distinctive roasted bitterness, GUINNESS® Extra Stout is our authentic carbonated classic. It’ll transport you back to an 18th Century world of stouts when the ancestor of this beer was known as GUINNESS® East and West India porter. In 1821, the definitive early GUINNESS® became known as Extra Superior Porter.
At 5% ABV, it’s a mature, conditioned brew for a richer GUINNESS® beer experience.

This is a pretty good beer, and they're not lying when they say extra stout.

Appearance - 5.0
Pours a dark black that no light comes through. It has about one figers worth of a tannish-brown(more on the brown side) head that leaves very nice lacing.
Aroma - 4.0
Has a very malty aroma. Notes of coffee, and nuts. Also to a smaller degree some dark chocolate.
Mouthfeel - 5.0
Not super heavy, but far from light. Has a pretty smooth feeling.
Taste - 4.0
Tastes like it smells, but the coffee flavor comes through the most. Finishes very dry, which is very characteristic of an Irish dry stout.
Overall - 4.0
Very good beer, but the dryness might not be for everyone. Probably couldn't drink more than two of these in a row. If you've tried the Draught, or even if you haven't, give this a try.
