Description:
An amazing treat for hops lovers.
Samuel Adams Hallertau Imperial Pilsner is a celebration of the extraordinary Hallertau Mittelfrueh hop variety. This rare Noble Bavarian hop, considered to be one of the best in the world, is prized for its quality and aromatic characteristics.
The beer, which is a deep golden color with a rich, creamy head, gives off an intense and complex Noble hop aroma unlike any other brew. With the first sip, beer enthusiasts will experience an explosion of hop flavor. The intensity of deep citrus, spicy Noble hop flavor is balanced with the slight sweetness from the malt. Due to the quality of the hops, this beer remains balanced and smoothly drinkable from beginning to end. The lingering "hop signature" is an amazing treat for hops lovers.

Very foggy orange yellow colour with a off white head. Lots of lacing down the glass.
Aroma - 4.0
Sweet hoppy smell. Sweet and fruity.
Mouthfeel - 4.5
Nice not to light, not to thick feeling in the mouth with just the right amount of carbonation.
Taste - 3.5
Definitely malty on the first taste becoming a lingering hoppy bitterness.
Overall - 4.0
Hoppy beers aren't really my liking, but this one was obviously very good quality using lots of good hops.

This brew pours a hazy orange that you can't see through. It has about one fingers worth of tannish head and has some very nice lacing.
Aroma - 4.0
Has a very hoppy smell with small traces of malt.
Mouthfeel - 5.0
A medium bodied beer that has a fairly smooth feeling with the right amount of carbonation.
Taste - 4.0
A malty taste up front followed by a huge amount of hops that linger after swallowing. Has a bitter finish.

I didn't notice before purchasing that there was a best by January 2008 date on the label. So this is several months past its freshest days. Despite it not being as fresh, it was still good overall. Any hops heads out there would enjoy this unique elixir. I would reccomend this, and will try to get it again and drink it while it is still fresh.
