Appearance - 4.0

Pours a very dark amber color, almost a brown, but has red highlights in it. Has a small amount of tan head which recedes pretty quickly, but leaves some decent lacing.

Aroma - 4.0

Can make out some roasted malts and some subtle hops in the aroma.

Mouthfeel - 4.0

Smooth mouthfeel, with medium carbonation.

Taste - 5.0

Begins with a nice malty taste with hints of chocolate. It ends with some spices and a crisp dry finish.

Overall - 5.0

A great combination of ingredients. It has a unique taste, and is an excellent irish red ale. It's very easy to drink and would make a good session beer. Hopefully Magic Hat will make this one into one of their regular beers, because I would deffinetly pick up more of these.
