Description:
Named Cinq Cents in 75 cl (25.4 fl.oz.) bottles, this beer with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast.
The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma.
The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth.
This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

Appearance - 3.0
Given the bottle fermented nature, even on a good pour some sediment is seen floating around in the beer, streams of carbonation bubbles streaming to the top, a nice white head floating over the deep dark amber colour that creating a foggy effect when looking through the glass.
Aroma - 5.0
Very sweet and fruity smelling, almost like a peach or mango, with a subtle floral scent mixed in.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
The beer becomes very thick and full feeling as the carbonation makes its move, where even a small drink seems to fill your mouth. The carbonation finishes off leaving your tongue tingling, waiting for the next drink.
Taste - 3.0
The flavour catches me by suprise, not bing as sweet as it seems, it shows some bitterness and lets you know where the 8% listed on the bottle really shows. A bit of the floral smell does make it into the flavour though.
Overall - 4.0
Overall, for a once in a while occasion, or more often if you can afford it, this beer makes for a nice drink on a cool summer evening, the aromas making the night seem better. I would recommend it to anyone with a couple extra dollars in their wallet and an evening to enjoy with it while talking with a friend or two.
