Loose Cannon Hop3 Ale - called Hop 3 (hop cubed) ale to reflect the enormous amount of hops in this beer: over 3 pounds per barrel! Also the beer is hopped 3 ways - in the kettle, in the hop back, and dry hopped. Winner of the Overall Best of Show Award in the Maryland State Governor's Cup 2005 Competition and voted the #1 IPA by Mahaffey’s Pub. We are very excited about this new product and have decided to make this beer available year round!

Appearance - 4.0
Pours one finger of sticky off-white head. It has a pretty good retention and leaves good lacing. The beer is a slightly hazy copper color.
Aroma - 4.0
Lots of hops. A mix of piny and citrusy hops are most prominent in the aroma.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
A light-medium bodied beer with a slick feel from the hops oil.
Taste - 5.0
The biscuit like malts hit first followed by a nice does of citrus hops. Some bitter hops round up the end leaving a nice finish. A slight fruity flavor lingers in the aftertaste as the bitterness dies down.
Overall - 5.0
A very delicious IPA it goes down easy and is pretty drinkable for it's abv. This is my first offering from Clipper City Brewing, and I must say I'm impressed. I'm interested in seeing what else they have to offer.
