Description:
Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45-degree plato, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continuously hopped with high-alpha American hops, then dry-hopped daily in the fermenter for a month & aged for nother month on whole-leaf hops!!! Our 120 Minute I.P.A. is by far the biggest I.P.A. ever brewed! At 20% abv and 120 ibus you can see why we call this beer THE HOLY GRAIL for hopheads!
-changed to be 18% for aging purposes according to Dogfish Head brewery.

It's quite an experience, but one with a high price of admission.

What have been people paying for a bottle? I just picked one up recently(saving it for awhile) and it was $12.00.

I paid $9.99 this past weekend for a 12oz bottle at the local Total Wine. Will have to save it for a night when I'm feeling in a hoppy (pun slightly intended) mood.

Holy crap. It is an experience, Not as bad if you're drinking from the bottle in short bursts. But if taste testing it, you get slammed with tons of sweet/tart flavour. Not to mention the 18% abv will hit you like a brick if you drink to fast.

A nice off white foamy head that dissipates nicely. A more orange-ish amber colour in body and just a little carbonation bubbling up to the top.
Aroma - 4.0
Very sharp and floral aroma from the hops. A little sweet and fruity as well. Very clean smelling.
Mouthfeel - 3.0
A little syrupy and heavy with light carbonation.
Taste - 3.5
Sharp tart sweet hop taste with just a little bitterness at the end. Some actual hoppy taste lingers along with the bitterness. You can kind of gather some pineapple and mango from this complex mix.
Overall - 3.5
Definitely for those that prefer the true hop flavour and not just the bitterness. This might be best consumed in small portions, sharing a bottle with a few people.

Mouthfeel - 4.0
clean although it can give you a little static in the teeth
Taste - 5.0
120 minutes will make your nose stuffy but worth every second of it, very floral.
Overall - 5.0
Great beer but not for the faint of hops at heart.
