Appearance - 4.0
Pours 2 fingers of creamy light tan head into a pint glass. It's got great retention and leaves some decent lacing. The beer has a murky, dark red appearance with visible carbonation.
Aroma - 4.0
The nose is full of sweet crystal malt paired with aggressive piny hops. The combination also emits a spicy aroma.
Mouthfeel - 4.5
Medium to full in body with a very oily, resiny feel from the copious amount of hops. Medium carbonation.
Taste - 4.5
Some sweet malt up front followed by a ton of piny hops flavor. Caramel notes interweave with the pine and then there is a big bitter finish that lingers in the mouth. There is a little bit of booze detected in the finish.
Overall - 4.5
Over the top crystal and west coast hops give this beer a nice flavor profile. It's a little bit spicy and piny but with enough crystal to back it up.
