Average of 4 ratings: 3.4 stars.
Description:
Our classic Olde Ale redefines the term "full-bodied" with its deliverance of complex and firm malt flavor. A fine blend of British and American hops provides an even bitterness as this beer finishes with a warming alcohol flavor.

Appearance - 4.0
Pours 2 fingers of fluffy tan head. Has a good retention and leaves a small amount of lacing as the beer diminishes. The beer is pretty dark, but there is still some light coming through, and you just barely see through the other side. Some ruby highlights when held to the light.
Aroma - 4.0
Big sweet malts and some spiciness make up the nose. Chocolate, caramel and brown sugar stand out.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
A medium bodied beer with good carbonation. It's smooth with a syrupy feel to it.
Taste - 4.5
Some roasted malts up front followed by some fairly complex sweeter malts just like the aroma. Ends with a nutty flavor and some bittering hops. There is quite a bit going on in the flavor, as it warms the hops become more apparent. Alcohol is well hidden in the richness of the beer.

This is a great, complex old ale. It's my favorite Lancaster Brewing beer for sure. Great for cold winter nights.
