One finger of off-white head that fades pretty quickly leaving a little lacing. The beer looks sharp. It's clear and dark amber in color. Obviously where the scarlet comes from in the name.
Aroma - 3.5
A sweet, malty aroma with hints of hops in the background.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
Light to medium in body. Active carbonation, yet it still has a somewhat creamy feel to it.
Taste - 3.5
This ESB is on the malty side. A good bit of malt up front, bready and sweet following by some bittering hops. The bitterness is pretty light and there is a sweet aftertaste.
Overall - 3.5
While it may not be exactly a model of the style, it's still very drinkable and has a taste that's enjoyable. Would make a great session beer.
