Appearance - 4.5
Pours a nice, thick mocha colored head that amounts to about an inch and a half. The head has great retention and leaves some nice lacing. The beer is pitch black.
Aroma - 3.5
Chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and a bit of grapefruit show up in the nose.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
Full in body, with a nice creaminess and good carbonation.
Taste - 4.5
Lots of dark roasted malts up front. Next up are some subtle, faded piny hops. It finishes dry with a nice hops bitterness to it that lingers. The finish also leaves a smoky taste in the mouth.
Overall - 4.0
Overall an excellent Russian Imperial Stout. Most certainly worth a try if you can find Victory beers near you.
