Pours an inch of white head into a tulip glass. It has a nice retention and leaves some spider lacing as it recedes. The beer color is sort of atypical for a DIPA. It's some what hazy and is a light in color with a golden straw appearance. Almost reminds me of a wheat beer.
Aroma - 3.5
It's a got a hoppy nose that consists primarily of grassy hops along with a grainy aroma. There's also a subtle fruit smell.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
Medium in body with active carbonation. It's slightly oily in the mouth from the hops.
Taste - 3.0
Bitterness up front followed by a bready flavors and the German malts. Next up are some spicy and grassy hops paired with a little bit of pine. It finishes bitter with a slightly fruity aftertaste. Alcohol is hidden very well, I wouldn't have guessed it was above 8%.
Overall - 3.5
A nice hoppy brew, but it didn't really do it for me. I prefer more of the citrus, orange, and grapefruit flavors from an imperial IPA, rather than the grassy, flowery ones.
