Description:

Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head's floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale's sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

Appearance - 3.5

Pours 1 1/2 fingers of off-white head that goes away pretty quickly but leaves generous lacing. The beer is hazy and copper in color.

Aroma - 5.0

This beer has a great aroma, there's pine, citrus, grapefruit. There's also a smaller presence of sweet malt in the background.

Mouthfeel - 5.0

Medium in body and it's pretty smooth and creamy for an IPA. It's also not very dry which is nice.

Taste - 4.5

This is a nice hoppy beer. Lots of citrus hits the taste buds first, followed by a real mellowed out malt (because of the amount of hops I'm sure). Towards the end are some tart hops that leave a minimal bitterness. It finishes crisp and clean.

Overall - 4.5

The alcohol is non-apparent in this beer despite the percentage. It goes down almost a little too easy. A very good drinkable IPA, with lots of flavor. It ranks up there in my favorite IPA's for sure.
