Once brewed in Britain for the Russian Czars, this tremendously rich and thick ale uses a profusion of burnt and caramel malts. A massive mouthful of dark roasted malt and coffee flavors finishes with hints of chocolate, caramel & licorice.

Appearance - 3.5
Thin tan head with decent retention and minimal lacing. Dark brown/black in color.
Aroma - 4.0
Nice standard choco roast nose with some raw grain notes as well.
Mouthfeel - 3.0
Decent feel on the palate though sorta thin in body. Good carbonation level.
Taste - 3.5
Same as aromas with some grassy hop notes buried in the back. Light fruitiness but choco roast dominates.
Overall - 3.5
A decent Impy Stout, though lacking in the big body dept.. A nice quaff no matter what. Thanks to Robert @statelineliquors for sharing the bottle.
