Appearance - 4.5
Had this on tap, it has a small off-white head that has good retention and leaves some nice lacing. The beer is dark copper and red in color.
Aroma - 3.5
A nice amount of piny and citrus hops. There's also some significant caramel malt. A bit of dark fruit is also present.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
Medium in body, good carbonation. There a ton of hops that coat the inside of your mouth.
Taste - 3.5
I wasn't sure what the style was when I had this. My first thought was an American barley wine b/c of it's huge hoppiness paired with the sweetness. The bartender told me it was an imperial red. Regardless of the style there is a good amount of toastiness, caramel malts, and dark fruit. Alcohol is present, but not too noticeable. It finishes with a boat load of piny hops leaving a huge bitterness.
Overall - 3.5
Overall it's a decent beer. There are a lot of hops and it will dominate your palette.
